Compare Cert 3 early childhood training providers in Tasmania
The table lists the training providers we have researched for the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC30125). For most of them we could not confirm from public information which states they serve, so the same list appears on every state and territory page. Use each row to prompt a question: does this training provider take students in Tasmania, and does its published fee apply to me?
If you intend to study from home, our page on online study options explains the course formats and the parts that still take place in person.
The Tasmanian regulator
The Tasmanian Government states that from 1 January 2026 its department, known as DECYP, moved many of its early childhood functions into a new business unit called Early Childhood Outcomes and Regulation. The unit includes the regulatory authority functions that the Education and Care Unit previously performed. You can read the current position on the Education and Care website.
Registration to Work with Vulnerable People
In Tasmania the scheme is called Registration to Work with Vulnerable People, and you apply for it through Service Tasmania. The Service Tasmania page states that you must register before you can volunteer or work with vulnerable people, including children, and that registration is valid for 5 years.
Read the official registration page for the process and the current rules. Ask each training provider when it expects your registration to be in place, since it relates to your work placement.
The size of the Tasmanian sector
The Tasmanian Government publishes data on the regulation of education and care. As of 31 December 2025, it reported 66 education and care providers and 243 education and care services approved to operate under the National Quality Framework. It also reported 16 child care services licensed under the Child Care Act. The qualification’s placement hours must be completed in a regulated children’s education and care service. See the regulation data page for the full figures.
