Compare Cert 3 early childhood training providers in Western Australia
The table lists the training providers we have researched for the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC30125). For most of them we could not confirm from public information which states they serve, so the same list appears on every state and territory page. Use each row to prompt a question: does this training provider take students in Western Australia, and does its published fee apply to me?
If you want to study from home, our page on online study options explains the course formats and the parts of the course that still take place in person.
The Western Australian regulator
The Western Australian Government states that the Department of Communities approves and monitors education and care services through the Education and Care Regulatory Unit. The qualification requires at least 160 hours of work in a regulated children’s education and care service, so this is the body that oversees the type of service where you will complete your placement. The Department’s regulatory unit page has the contact details and further information.
The Working with Children Check in WA
In Western Australia the check is called the Working with Children Check. The state government describes it as a compulsory screening strategy for people engaging in child-related work, and it names the WWC Screening Unit as the body that runs it. Read the official Working with Children Check page for the process and the current rules.
Ask your training provider when it expects your check to be in place, and who pays for it. Our cost guide explains why checks and other extras can sit outside a published course fee.
Fee-free training and Cert 3 early childhood
Jobs and Skills WA publishes a fee-free course list each year. The list for 2026, which is version 1, names the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care. It names the older code, CHC30121, and not the current code, CHC30125. The National Training Register shows CHC30125 as superseding and equivalent to CHC30121, but it is for the Western Australian Government and the training provider to tell you how the list applies to a course that uses the new code.
The fee-free page also states that existing worker trainees are not eligible. Read the fee-free and low-fee page and the 2026 course list before you rely on either. Our free and subsidised study guide compares the programmes in every state and territory.
